steeped in history
What’s more iconic than okra in the south? A staple in Southern cuisine for generations, Okra or Okro is also known as the "Lady's finger" or in Africa as “King Gumbo.” Okra has origins in West Africa and South Asia, and arrived in the new world in the 1600's. It is a flowering vegetable in the mallow family along with around 4,225 other species--hibiscus, cacao, baobab, cotton, and durian to name a few.
Our Pickled Okra takes center stage in this savory snack with each crunchy bite being a nod to tradition. Whether enjoyed straight from the jar or as a zesty addition, sliced in salads and atop sandwiches, our Pickled Okra promises a taste of Southern hospitality with every bite.
