Our chef created foods draw inspiration from Southern cooking and the culinary traditions of the African diaspora, using quality ingredients chosen for flavor, purpose and connection to the foods that inspire us. From pimento cheese and cornbread to Pikliz, hot sauces and pantry staples, every product is created with flavor and storytelling at its core.

Food with Roots was founded by two time James Beard Award winning Chef Edouardo Jordan. Drawing from his Southern roots, culinary career and the food traditions of the African diaspora, Chef Jordan created Food with Roots to share soulful stories through food. What began with products inspired by his restaurant kitchens has grown into a chef driven food company producing pimento cheese, Pikliz, baking mixes, hot sauces, seasonings and pantry staples rooted in culture, family and tradition.
